How to submit a Secondary Claim

Our system will automatically submit a Secondary Claim when the patient’s secondary insurance information is available in the platform.

However, if you need to manually resubmit a Secondary Claim, please follow the steps below.

Resubmit a Secondary Claim

Step 1: Find the claim that you wish to submit a Secondary Claim for in All Claims.

Step 2: Copy the Encounter ID by clicking on the copy icon next to the Encounter ID.

Step 3: Navigate to Advanced Action on your left panel.

Step 4: Paste the encounter ID into the box and click ‘>'

Step 5: If your claim meets the requirement, meaning the secondary claim has already been sent out by our system but needs to be resent, the “Resent Secondary Claim” option will appear on the right panel. Click on that option and click Confirm.

Step 6: Our system will add the claim to the submission queue and automatically send the Secondary Claim during our scheduled weekly batch submission at the end of the week.

Adding Secondary Insurance and sending out Secondary Claim

If the patient’s secondary insurance information is not available in the platform and you wish to add this patient’s secondary insurance and submit the secondary claim, you can also do so in Advanced Action.

Step 1: Find the claim that you wish to submit a Secondary Claim for in All Claims.

Step 2: Copy the Encounter ID by clicking on the copy icon next to the Encounter ID.

Step 3: Navigate to Advanced Action on your left panel.

Step 4: Paste the encounter ID into the box and click ‘>’

Step 5: Click on the option “Add secondary insurance” and “Confirm”.

Step 6: Add the Secondary Insurance Payer name, Secondary Insurance ID and Relationship to the Insured.

Step 7: Click Confirm. Our system will add the claim to the submission queue and automatically send the Secondary Claim during our scheduled weekly batch submission at the end of the week.

Please note, you have to submit a Secondary Claim through Advanced Actions. Submission from Claim Review panel is only for Primary Claims.
